ALVIN, TX (Wednesday, May 25) – Melbourne Senior Apartments, located at 3337 Mustang Road, is officially open and leasing to residents 55 years and older. Louisville, Kentucky based LDG Development has completed construction on this $16 million dollar gated community bringing the city of Alvin one step closer to ensuring residents have access to safe and affordable housing. Towne Commons building toward November finish

Towne CommonsIn the shadow of Towne Mall, construction crews are hard at work. Lying between North Dixie Avenue and Veterans Way is the advent of a 92-unit apartment complex known as Towne Commons, a project expected to be finished by Nov. 1, said Chris Dischinger, co-owner of Louisville-based LDG Development.

Overcoming Significant Obstacles Award - Novogradac Journal of Tax Credits

The Muse ApartmentsThe Muses Apartments is a remarkable story of how effective partnerships can overcome obstacles at every stage of a development. The parties to this transaction included an out‐of‐town private developer, Kentucky-based LDG Development, and a local non‐profit developer, Gulf Coast Housing Partnership; city hall; the state housing finance agency; two neighborhoods at odds over the development; and a city councilwoman caught between the two neighborhoods, all before bringing new investment and helping to transform a re-emerging Central City New Orleans.

Major Community Impact - Honorable Mention from Novogradac Journal of Tax Credits

The Muse ApartmentsThe Muses Apartment Homes in New Orleans, is located on the edge of the low‐income Central City National Historic District. The Muses Apartments is a 263‐unit, mixed‐income LIHTC development that transforms nearly five acres of abandoned, urban infill property into a neighborhood hub and a bridge to the economic activity along St. Charles Avenue and the Garden District. A two-phase development, Phase 1 completed in September 2010; and Phase 2 (52 units) is under construction, with completion targeted for spring 2012.
